Tengu Sector

Tengu Sector is a Core Systems Free Republic territory, one sector antispinward and two sectors rimward from Titan Sector and Earth. The first colony established was Crake Colony, Soledad System in 2225. Crake retains its place as the seat of the Sectoral Congress.

When Lavigne and her crew blazed their trail out of the Victoria Falls Nebula and into Tengu, they were shocked by the lush, mild worlds they found - stark contrast to the horrors of Thunderbird Sector. All of the systems had multiple terrestrial planets, and some seemingly desolate worlds showed signs of extinct plant life. In an dark twist of fate, the conditions hindered terraforming attempts on several worlds. That, coupled with the trade breakdown of the 2440s, meant that full colonization of the most rimward systems was not possible until the last few decades.

By Earth astrogational standards (see Core Systems Scout Service), Tengu Sector is 1 sector antispinward and 2 sectors rimward from Earth (technically Titan Sector). This gives Tengu Sector's relative grid coordinates the dimensions of (-1X2X). Soledad System, for example, is at relative coordinates -1313.

Political Status

Tengu Sector is the frontier of human space, and the people here are still reliant on the Navy to protect them from each other. Order here varies wildly within and between systems, and the sparse Navy presence means that the residents are often forced to take justice into their own hands rather than involve Crake or the CSFR. Most of the worlds of Tengu Sector are barely settled - at least in comparison to more urbane planets in other areas of human space.
