Plydron is a Mars-size world, 6,600 km in diameter, with a surface gravity of 0.36g. There is no appreciable atmosphere. Approximately 60% of the surface is ice-covered.
Demographics
Plydron's combined civilian and military population numbers around 20 million. As residents of the only planet in Tengu Sector with a strong Navy presence besides Oryx, Plydron's citizens enjoy a higher sense of security than more rowdy worlds. This, combined with its status as one of the sector's most populous planets, has contributed to a culture of liberal values that may strike some as excessive. Perhaps the most well-known manifestation of Plydron's unique culture is the fashionability of a completely androgynous appearance.
Economics
In addition to its profitable mining of precious metals and radioactive ores, Plydron serves as the base of Navy activity in rimward Tengu Sector. A constant stream of new immigrants pressing out to the frontier of human space also boosts the planet's economic power.
Politics
The planetary government is CSRF-standard representative democracy, though a few planetary congress seats are held by members of the Cornucopia Party, which advocates the removal of human installations from Tengu Sector.
