Lavigne-class Explorer
The Lavigne-class explorer is a variant of the Core Systems Scout Service's Artemis-class recon frigate. The two variants serve in different branches of the CSSS, the Artemis as a stealthy scout ship in the Recon Corps and the Lavigne as a research vessel in the Exploratory Corps. The Lavigne-class is named after venerable Scout-Commodore Ishrat Lavigne, who charted a route through Thunderbird Sector, and is intended to replace the vast (and aging) fleet of Compass-class scout vessels that have served since before the League was founded.
