The proliferation of cheap and reliable translation software has made communication between human groups even simpler. This does not take into account the jargon, pidgin tongues, and other linguistic oddities seen throughout human space.

The following languages are recognized as among the most prevalent in human space, each being commonly used by more than one billion speakers.

Anglish

Farsi

Japanese

Portuguese

Punjabi

Russian

Sino-Japanese

Turkish

Several other languages are in common use among certain groups (on Earth and other worlds) such as French, Greek, Spanish and Tagalog. The Republic Board of Linguistics maintains a comprehensive list of all recognized languages. (available at no charge via CoreNet ComBank).
