Courir is an unaligned planet in the Alentour System of Dragon Sector.
Planetary Data
Geographic Data
Courier is smaller than Earth, with an equatorial diameter of 9,900 km and a surface gravity of 0.75g. It has a very thin atmosphere (0.35atm) that is breathable with a respirator. Shallow seas cover approximately half the planet's surface. Courir's proximity to its star makes it a temperate world, despite its relatively thin atmosphere.
Demographics
Courir's 430,000 citizens are often antagonistic towards outsiders, and the culture's mendacious nature does nothing to counter this. Courir's distance from more civilized worlds and its location at the very edge of human space makes presenting an accurate portrayal of its people difficult, if not impossible. What little about them is agreed upon is that they are a conservative, xenophobic society that barely tolerates visitation from neighboring systems.
Economics
The bulk of Courir's slim economy is based on exporting common ores, though the planet is also the source of a regional market for various addictive substances manufactured in poorly-controlled conditions.
Politics
Courir's population is small enough to rely on consensus at various levels, from "outpost law" to planet-impacting decisions. There are no official "rulers", though economic or military strength affords some citizens more rights than others.
Travellers' Information
Advisories
There are currently no major advisories for Courir, although travellers are cautioned that Republic law is meaningless in Alentour System.
Travellers' Resources
Courir has no resources of note. The Class-D starport (really nothing more than a collection of temporary shelters pressed into permanent service) is barely capable of servicing a scout ship, much less anything else.
