Bailey is a Mirandolan-aligned planet in the Vijavica System of Thunderbird Sector.

Planetary Data

Geographic Data

Bailey is a very small planet, 5,600 km in diameter, with a surface gravity of 0.25 and only traces of atmosphere (0.08 atm). There are small amounts of wet ground spread throughout the equatorial region.

90 million people live on Bailey, with some forty-thousand more on the orbital starport. Most of the citizens are Mirandolans, but about 3% are members of the Penitent Brotherhood that have found Bailey's crowded urban enclosures advantageous to proselytizing against the evils of straying outside the genetic bounds of humanity. This development has strained the patience of the normally tolerant natives.

Bailey's low gravity allows for the manufacture of sophisticated cybernetics, and the planet itself is mined for the precious metals that they require. Piracy is a large problem in Vijavica System because of this.

The neutrality of this section has been disputed.

There is a rumored underground trade in xenoarchaological artifacts originating in Tengu Sector.

Bailey's colonies are more close-knit than those of other Mirandolan worlds, owing to the confined spaces and constant social contact. The combination of proximity and pooling allows them to manage their tiny rock, the starport, and their thriving tech industry. Many colonies favor a large increase in military spending to counter the system's piracy problems, but as of yet there are only a few small fleets in orbit around Bailey itself.

Travellers' Information
